Our accreditations
Accredited counselling training with clear professional recognition
Choosing an accredited course matters. Accreditation confirms that your training meets nationally recognised standards, is respected across the profession and supports a clear route into ethical, employable counselling practice.
Aloe Counselling Training is a CPCAB approved centre, delivering qualifications that are regulated, professionally recognised and aligned with the requirements of the UK counselling profession.
Our courses support progression toward membership with BACP and NCPS, the two main professional bodies for counsellors in the UK.

What does accredited counselling training mean?
Counselling is not a legally regulated profession. Instead, professional standards are upheld through accredited qualifications, professional bodies and independently assessed registers.
For you as a student, accreditation means you are studying a qualification that is:
- Nationally recognised (Ofqual-regulated)
- Professionally respected (accepted by BACP and NCPS)
- Aligned with industry standards for safe counselling practice
- A recognised route into employment and private practice
CPCAB qualifications meet these standards because CPCAB is the UK’s specialist awarding body solely dedicated to counselling qualifications.
Professional accreditations at a glance

CPCAB
The awarding body for our counselling qualifications
Regulated by Ofqual and recognised across the UK, CPCAB Levels 2–4 form an established route toward independent counselling practice. The Level 4 Diploma is also recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), reflecting high national standards.

BACP
British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s most widely recognised professional bodies. Completing your CPCAB Level 4 Diploma provides a clear and recognised route toward BACP registration and ethical professional practice.

NCPS
National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
CPCAB qualifications are accepted for NCPS membership, supporting entry onto a Professional Standards Authority (PSA) accredited register. This offers national recognition and supports employability across agency and private practice settings.
CPCAB Level 4 recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ)
The CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling is now formally recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification, a national marker of high-quality, practice-focused vocational training.
HTQ recognition means that:
- Your qualification meets rigorous, nationally validated standards
- Your training carries increased credibility with employers and placement providers
- Your Diploma is recognised alongside other respected higher-level technical qualifications
In short, this recognition confirms real professional value and relevance of the Level 4 Diploma.

What is the accredited counselling register?
The counselling accredited register is a nationally recognised list of counselling practitioners who meet approved training standards and follow strict ethical guidelines. Accredited registers are independently assessed by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Joining an accredited register:
- Confirms your training meets national standards
- Reassures clients, employers and agencies
- Demonstrates your commitment to ethical practice
- Supports trust and professional credibility
CPCAB qualifications are designed to support progression toward registration with BACP or NCPS, strengthening both employability and professional standing.
NHS employment routes for counsellors
Accredited counselling training is increasingly recognised across health and wellbeing services, including the NHS.
With CPCAB qualifications and professional membership, counsellors may access a range of roles, such as:
- NHS counselling positions
- Primary care wellbeing and support roles
- Community and integrated mental health teams
- Specialist emotional wellbeing services
While NHS work is not the goal for every counsellor, these pathways reflect the growing value placed on accredited, professionally recognised training across the sector.
