The Aloe Counselling Training Centre gets its name from the Aloe succulent. The Aloe succulent is known for it assorted healing purposes. We at the ACTC believe that if we provide an environment that nurtures and helps practicians to grow and provides space for students to explore, experience and take personal risks this allows them a healthy environment to start their own self-awareness journey. Becoming self-aware is something that is central to who we are, but it is not something that we are acutely focused on at every moment of every day. We encourage our students to embrace this part of the course where you can learn about yourself and how your behaviours have been shaped. We encourage our students to be independent in their learning as well as offering exploration into professional areas of interest all with the purpose to heal. Whether you are new to the work of counselling and well-being or already an established practitioner looking to imporve the service you provide for your clients, we're here to help you reach your potential.
Out tutors have a wealth of experience and come from many differnt backgrounds and modalities. Because all of our tutors have expereinced counselling themselves they are able to relate to new students in terms of fears at starting something new. All of our tutors are vetted and practice in terms of an Ethical Framework which ensure they are always working to a high professional standard. Our tutors work in a range of different areas from Private Practice, Relationship Counselling, Grief , Trauma as well as in agency settings. Due to their wide diverse backgrounds our students are able to get an overview of what it is like to work in many areas of the counselling profession. Our tutors are also required to complete regualar training programmes to ensure that they keep their skills up to date.
Our Centre
Being a small centre, based in the heart of St Neots we are easily accessable. We keep our classes small so that we can offer a comprehensive flexable approach to teaching. We belive that offering a safe and supportive teaching environment is important to starting our students on their counselling journeys. Our aim is to build relational depth and nurture and encourage growth for each student. The courses are aimed at group work as well as individual work. Group work allows for students to offer their own experiences know as "experiential learning" as well as gain insight into their peers experiences. Our students are encouraged to activley particiape in practice sessions with their peers in order to develop and hone the skills you will be learning about. At the centre we believe that learning in this way is crucial to not just qualify but to become a great counsellor, in a safe and caring environment.
